This credential is issued directly by Lift.ED Consulting and reflects successful completion of the Digital Kinship™ Foundations program. The certificate includes dedicated sections addressing two mandatory Minnesota relicensure requirements Cultural Competency and Accommodating, Modifying, and Adapting Curricula alongside core content in culturally responsive digital pedagogy and AI literacy in education, plus clock-hour documentation for submission to your district. The Cultural Competency section was built by Dr. Lanise Block, a PELSB-trained facilitator and one of the original designers of PELSB's statewide Cultural Competency training model. Explore how family, community, and cultural communication shape inclusive virtual learning. Through four practical tools and a community asset mapping experience, you will design virtual spaces that genuinely welcome the families your students come from. Because that is where the gold is.
AI is already in your school. The question is not whether it will affect your students it is whether you will have a voice in how. This module grounds you in the Justice Junctures™: Leadership for Human-Centered AI, the practical leadership application of Liberation Innovation Framework Experience™ (LIFE). You will examine AI tools critically, build liberation-centered AI literacy for yourself and your students, and develop the advocacy language to influence AI decisions at every level you have access to. Justice is not a theme in this module. It is the standard everything is measured against.
This section fulfills the PELSB Cultural Competency renewal requirement as an integrated part of the Digital Kinship Foundations Certificate. Rather than treating cultural competency as a separate, generic training, it examines bias, representation, and equity through the lens of the digital tools and platforms already shaping today's classrooms so the reflection work connects directly to the technology decisions educators are already making.
This section is designed to fulfill the PELSB requirement to demonstrate skill in accommodating, modifying, and adapting curricula, materials, and strategies to meet the needs of individual students as an integrated part of the Digital Kinship Foundations Certificate.
Every classroom holds students who need the same content delivered differently: some need a text made more accessible without losing its rigor, some need the same idea offered in more than one format, some need an assessment that measures what they know without the format itself getting in the way, and some are ready to go further than the lesson as written was built to take them.
This section treats all of that as one skill, not separate categories using AI as a practical tool for building those adaptations quickly, and your own judgment as the check on whether an adaptation opened a door or quietly lowered one.
You'll have a full 12 months to complete the certificate including a full summer to work at your own pace, whenever that lands for you. The suggested pace is 8 weeks at 3–5 hours per week, but there's no requirement to move that fast. Access runs 12 months from your enrollment date, which always includes at least one full summer break.
